Random..

Happy Halloween!
So I've got really nothing new and exciting in baby world this weekend.  I did my weigh in today and I lost weight again.  I know this is probably going to stop soon, so I'm trying to enjoy it while I can.  Who knew pregnancy would be a weight loss plan for me! But I'm guessing in the next 15 weeks I'll gain back everything I've lost.
I tried to go shopping for the shelf this weekend for Micah's room, but the stores were craziness!  It was worse than Black Friday shopping in Venice!  So I'm going to try after my doctor appointment on Wednesday.  Hopefully everyone else will be at work and I'll actually be able to shop, and not be ran over!
So I'm absolutely in shock that tomorrow is November!  November means Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Black Friday!! And then it'll be December, which has Christmas! And then New Years! And then once we're in January, we're in close baby range and everything should be ready to go! Starting to panic! It doesn't feel like enough time to get ready!! It amazes me how quickly the 9 months is going! I'm so ready to meet him, but oh my goodness I have so much to do!  I'm still trying to get into a baby class at my hospital! They won't ever call me back so I can register!
Whew, must go eat and calm myself :)

24 Weeks!

So today is 24 weeks! Happy viability week! This is the first week that if the awful happened, and Micah decided he wanted to come into the world, he would actually have a chance of surviving.  But he's going to stay in for another 15 weeks or so! :) This picture made me realize how huge my stomach is getting, and how that massive stomach is making my bum look smaller! Brandon keeps telling me that my bum is getting smaller, but I think its just a proportion thing! And random people are now commenting, such as last night a random woman told me I shouldn't buy apple juice, that cranberry juice is better for me while pregnant.

Update on what is going on with Micah; according to my pregnancy apps, he is about as long as a ear of corn.  He's still really skinny but starting to add weight.  His brain and taste buds are growing right now.  He is growing from an ear of corn to the size of a rutabaga this week! And he'll gain about .25 pounds this week!!
Micah really loves to kick and move around.  I feel him all the time! I keep telling him he's supposed to be sleeping so he will grow real big!  He really loves my bladder this week, I think he thinks its a springboard to jump off of.  This week I also saw movement on the outside for the first time.  Earlier this week, I was eating cereal and I had the bowl against my belly and he was kicking the bowl and Brandon could see the bowl moving from his kicks.
Less than 112 days to go!

Storage..

So this is Micah's room..
It's not really a bedroom, it's actually the dining room in our apartment.  And the dining room isn't actually a room in our apartment, its really a corner.  We decided he doesn't need a real bedroom until we move, because he'll probably be in our room with us at night until then.  But I'm still trying to make his corner room a nursery, because well he's our first baby! And we want a "nursery".  So my problem right now is storage.  His dresser has his clothes, bibs, burp cloths, blankets, and all that stuff.  I'm trying to figure out where to put diapers, wipes and all that stuff I need easily accessible as I change him.

There is obviously no room on the left side of the dresser, and the right side we're planning on diaper genie and clothes hamper. So I think I'm going to have to put a shelf above the dresser and put the diapers in a basket on the shelf, but how high do I put the shelf so I don't bump his head, but I can still reach what I need? Obviously we have to move before he's old enough to turn the lights on and off, and adjust the temperature for me! :)  And don't you just love that massive chip in his dresser that the Army did for us? We are waiting for the claims stuff to come through before it gets fixed.

Baby Items

So I'm trying to make a list of things I need before Micah is born, things I want but aren't necessary, and things that I can buy later on.  My thoughts so far-
Things I have-
Crib
Mattress
Dresser
Changing Pad
1 Changing Pad cover
1 crib sheet
Burp Cloths that I made
A small amount of cothes (probably need more onesies)
A few bibs
2 Hats
2 booties
2 Pacifiers
1 blanket
Diaper Bag (being made by my sister, THANKS!)
Stroller (don't have it yet, but I will, THANKS Mom and Dad!)
Starter Supply of Diapers and Wipes

Things I need before Micah is born-
Car Seat
Rock n play (he's going to sleep in that at night next to me, and in his crib during the day for naps)
Mattress Pad (Should I get 2 in case he has a serious explosion?)
One more crib sheet?
Thermometer?
Swaddle blankets
Socks

Things I desire, but probably don't need right away-
Mobile for crib
Clothes hamper
Diaper Genie
Carrier/Sling so I can carry him easier while taking the dogs out

Things I'll get after he's born or might not need-
Breast Pump
Bouncer/Swing
Bumbo chair (I'll get this one, I found them on ebay really cheap)

What other things am I forgetting about? Or are there things on the lists that need to move to different lists??

Burp Cloths!

So I have gotten hit with what I am guessing is nesting.  I want to get everything ready for Micah, and since I'm at home all day, I've decided to start making some stuff for him! Save money, and making things make the items more special.  The burp cloth above is one version I made where the other side is diaper cloth, and then I also made more that had the baby flannel on both sides of the burp cloth. The picture below is the ones I'm working on now, and they are so much harder! More complex! It's a cloth diaper I bought from Marshalls, and then I take the fabric to make a stripe down the middle to make them cuter. I still haven't finished the one below, so don't look to closely!  I'm so proud of myself! :) Crafty is not normally my thing! But once I'm done with all of these, I'll have a good amount of burp cloths for when Micah comes home! (The picture above, isn't Micah's bedsheet on his crib so cute!!)

Welcome!

I started this blog mainly to keep our family and friends updated on this adorable little one.  That's beautiful Micah at 21 weeks.  Since the Army decided to move us completely across country to the desert of Texas just as we found out we were pregnant with our first baby, I decided this was the easiest way to keep everyone updated and show lots of pics without clogging up my Facebook! Plus help me remember everything that happens, because I'm already forgetting things!!
